Pre-Season Outlook
The Panthers drafted Legette with the final pick of the first round this April, 32nd overall, making a big bet that he wasn't just a one-year wonder. The four-star recruit had only 423 receiving yards over his first four seasons at South Carolina, before breaking out in a big way last year with 71 catches for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns. That got Legette into the conversation for a Day 2 pick, and he ultimately snuck into Day 1 after lighting up the 2024 Combine with a 4.39 40-yard dash and 40-inch vertical at 6-1, 221. His size-speed combination is in truly rare territory, and he may instantly replace another workout warrior (2023 second-round pick Jonathan Mingo) in three-wide sets alongside veteran wideouts Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen. The rookie is Carolina's best chance to have a real deep threat for second-year quarterback Bryce Young, who will be in a new scheme under former Bucs offensive coordinator Dave Canales.

Targeting training camp
Coach Dave Canales said Tuesday that Legette (hamstring), who isn't participating in practice, is expected to be 100 percent for training camp, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Legette has been dealing with a hamstring injury since May, but it doesn't seem the issue will prevent him from handling full reps during training camp. Canales downplayed the severity of Legette's injury, per Joe Person of The Athletic, stating that if the Panthers were currently preparing for a game week the wideout would be practicing. Once healthy, Legette should have a clear path to earning a starting role alongside veteran receivers Adam Thielen and Diontae Johnson.

Missing practice again
Legette (hamstring) isn't practicing Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Legette first missed practice last Wednesday, with Panthers coach Dave Canales saying the rookie "looked tight" the day before. Legette's hamstring injury doesn't appear too serious, as he's working off to the side with Carolina's training staff Tuesday. He'll likely be ready for the start of training camp in late July even if he doesn't practice again before then.

Dealing with tightness
Legette missed practice Wednesday, with head coach Dave Canales noting afterward that the rookie "looked tight" the day before, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The 32nd overall pick appears to be dealing with a minor muscular injury in his lower body. Assuming he doesn't miss too much time, Legette is in good position to earn plenty of snaps as a rookie within a Carolina offense that's badly in need of a downfield target to complement veteran possession receivers Adam Thielen and Diontae Johnson. The Panthers didn't get much from 2023 second-round pick Jonathan Mingo last season, but they went back to the well for a physically similar player this…read more
